New Place To Meat Up Opening Soon

No, that's not a typo. A new steakhouse is scheduled to open in Menlo Park.

LB Steak is in the process of getting the permits necessary to open a new location in downtown Menlo Park.

The restaurant will have a modern American steakhouse concept, according to Laura Levy, who is head of marketing for the company.

“We’ll be focusing on steaks and prime cuts of beef, delivered with great service and a great wine list,” Levy said.

LB Steak plans to move into the space at 898 Santa Cruz Avenue, which used to be home to Marché, a high-end French restaurant. The Chef des Cruisines for LB Steakhouse has not yet been named, said Thomas Bunker, chief operations officer.

Joël Guillon, Maître Cuisinier de France and Culinary Director, will be recruiting a chef and a sous chef as soon as the paperwork is finalized, Bunker said. A precise date has not been declared.

This is the second restaurant that he will be opening in Menlo Park. In 1998, his company opened Left Bank Brasserie on the corner of Doyle and Santa Cruz Avenue.

Marché employees said problems with parking in the area contributed to the restaurant's closur. Bunker said he was not familiar with that problem, as his Left Bank Brasserie employees have never had parking issues.

To get a sample of what to expect from the restaurant, you can visit the location on Santana Row in San Jose.
